Working for Urban Liason Magazing Nampa {Boise, Idaho Food Photographer}

If you ever get into my car you will hear 94.1. I love to listen to the Word and one particular day I listened to an interview with The Marketing Goddess and Cheryl of Urban Liason Magazine. They were talking about how the magazine helps the local market. This is a free magazine comprised of local business ads and does full features on chosen restaurants and small businesses. I immediately called and asked to be a part of it. Cheryl of Urban Liason Canyon county called me and we did a couple restaurant reviews.

I am not perfect at this type of shoot but I want to stretch my creativity and im always striving to get better. Here are a few from that day!

Boise Child Photography: Gabby gets serious!

So I believe that I have successfully infiltrated the "police department"! My bestest girly Sonia Lopez works for dispatch at the police department and can't seem to keep her mouth shut about me, I just don't know why! LOL! I am so thankful for her and all the ladies that have chosen me for their family photos.
Crystal called me as a referral from another client there and needed to get pictures of her little girl Gabby.  We decided to keep it simple and head out to the field near both of our houses- she lives a stone throw from me. The second we got her out in the field, she stayed very serious. As she watched the cars drive by, Crystal and I probably sounded a little crazy with our high squeeky voices and looked a little strange waving our hands around to get her to look and to smile. All in all we definitely showcased little Gabby on that day. She is absolutely adorable.

Boise Family Photography: Mandy and her little gentlemen!!

I am always so thankful when I get to meet a new client- especially when they are a referral. A referral is the best compliment I could ever receive. First of all, a client must really have a great experience and love the service to share that with their friends or family. And that is simply the greatest gift to me. SO with that I introduce Mandy Haynes and her little boys.

Mandy is a referral from Debbie Lehnert. I shot Debbie's family a couple months ago and received the most amazing feedback from her! She loved every proof picture and had to have every one of them! I still smile thinking about that day. Mandy and her husband attend the same "core group" as Debbie through Calvary Chapel Church, which so happens to be the church Aaron and I go to. So we were simply destined to meet!

Mandy is B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! I joked with Aaron saying "She looks like a cover girl". They all look like models. I can't wait to get her husband out next time to shoot the whole family.  Check out these pictures of the day!!

Boise Wedding Photography: A Toast to Past weddings in View of New ones!!

I have had the pleasure and honor to be a part of many beautiful couple's wedding days!! I am still in awe of what a compliment that is to me! Tami Tremblay of channel 2 news gave me one of the greatest opportunities I could have ever asked for, an interview about WEDDINGS!! I can't hardly wait to see how silly I look on camera, there is a reason why I stay behind it!! Since I am getting married too in July, it was very easy to relate to the struggles brides have to go through to prepare for the day. I am shooting her wedding too and we got to talk about all the fun girly things we have done and the not so fun things we haven't finished yet.  Oh my goodness, so much! I would have never guessed it would be so overwhelming. So girls, I can definitely relate to what you are going through... I just love what I do and can't help but get excited to share that with new people! Here are a few past weddings to get ready for the upcoming Wedding season!! I can't wait!!!!

Boise Family Photography: Debbie and her Boys!!

I got a call from Debbie a few weeks back and we scheduled a family shoot for her and her boys. I didn't know her so of course I snooped on facebook and checked her out to see if I recognized her or anyone she knew. The first thing I saw was red hair and blue eyes, on everyone! Wow! What a beautiful family! We were both so excited that we could hardly wait!

I typically have the little kids run and play while occasionally stopping for a photo or two with mom and dad. Since her youngest wasn't old enough to run we all watched as Kyler ran, jumped around and played. As we walked we both realized that we go to the same church! I am so thankful to have met Debbie and her family! Here are a few from the day!!

Boise Wedding Photography: Dane + Sylvia

Last year I was searching craigslist, which I did daily, and came across a photographer that was quitting her business and had a ton of equipment to sell. I immediately called her and met up at her house. Her name was Trish Scott. She had worked in the industry for a long time and had built up a clientele that she was sad to leave. I picked her brain and we discussed all kinds of photography topics. It was a really fun time. She told me that she would refer me to her clients as they came to her.

I was very happy to hear from her recently as she had a client that was having a short ceremony over lunch and wanted her to shoot the event. She had moved on from photography so she emailed me if I would be interested and of course I said yes!

His name is Dane Meuler and her name is Sylvia. We met at Starbucks and discussed the day. I asked questions and they laughed together. They were flying to a much warmer climate for their honeymoon where they would take their official photos but still wanted the ceremony captured. I was happy to do it!

It was a Friday and we met up at Asiagos restaurant downtown Boise. The sun was out but a cool breeze kept Sylvia in goose bumps during the outdoor photos. The ceremony took place in a small room with one end lined with wine bottles. Such a romantic atmosphere. Dane and Sylvia were so appreciative and easy going that it was a literal dream to do.  Here are a few shots of the lunch hour ceremony.

Blog? Where have you been?? oops, where have "i" been?

ALOT has happened since I last saw you. And by that I mean Everything has happened, it seems like.

I am planning my own wedding..... and failing miserably at it. I signed up on www.Oncewed.com or was it www.theknot.com and there is apparently a timeline to get some of these important tasks done and I am WAY behind. So far I have ordered the dress, the photography and the venue. I bought some save the dates from a company called www.weddingpaperdivas.com and I love them. But I am late getting those out too! wah wah... What good is having save the dates if people dont get them? sigh...I have been so blessed to have the best FIANCE,MOM, DAD, step mom, future mother in law and friends. They have literally been my lifeline, a shoulder to cry on and constant encouragement and support when i desperately needed it. I cannot wait for this day to get here. July 2nd.

Then I got to have "THE MOST AMAZING, WONDERFUL, JAWDROPPING, INFORMATIVE, CRAZY and EXPENSIVE" time at http://www.wppionline.com/storage/2011/home.html. I met the celebrities of photography! A literal dream come true. My "mentor/top 5 friend" and her husband were there and took me under their wing. Since she knew practically everyone I stood as the 3rd wheel and LOVED every second of it. Seriously. My girl Julie Jerome, Tasha, Isaiah and I hiked up Red Rock Canyon, and witnessed one of the most beautiful views Ive seen.

Being home is a relief and also the beginning point from which I will grow, expand, and reach new goals that I only dream of. God is good and is always good. No matter how hard things get I know He is in ultimate control and His timing is "razor sharp". I am so thankful to be here and to see the potential that everyone else sees in me. Talk to you again soon...

Boise Family Photography: Cousins in Hats

Becky has been my friend for about 19 years....I know, so needless to say Ive been around her family since way before all these kiddies were born. When she told me her brother David, his wife Lori and their boys were in town for the Holidays I was stoked to see them. She said that she'd like to get all the kids in a photo since most of them were here in Boise. Of course I drooled over the opportunity. These kids are sooooooo photogenic and stylish so I was extra extra excited.

It was a very cold day but the kids were troopers and smiled through it. The older kids played on the train car while others stomped on the ice. It took all the moms and dads to get the kids to "look and smile" If you heard us all, you would have laughed, but hey you do what you've got to do to get the shot. Debbie's girls killed me with their shots! When I got home to edit the pictures I looked at Aaron and said, "This is what you hope and pray for," showing him a shot that I happened to get of the girls hugging and giggling.

I had the best time and can't wait to shoot any and/or ALL of them again!

Happy Monday and GOD BLESS YOU!

Joe Human~Designs By Human

I started blogging when I decided to take photography on seriously in 2009. I had zero followers for months. I didn't really expect a lot at first because I was mostly posting personal work. One day I had a follower! Designs by Human . Who is that? I didn't care really who it was, I had a follower and it wasn't my mom. So, I checked out who he was and contacted him. We met up for coffee downtown and hit it off. I told him if he ever needed photos of his designs to call me. I could use them in my portfolio. He talked it over with his wife and together we have worked on 4 designs with more to come. Every house I walk into the client Raves about Mayra and Joe. They love them! So it looks like I found a great business relationship. I also found out that we both go to the same church too!

Without further adieu...here are some photos from our last shoot.

Boise Wedding Photography: Rebecca + Brian

It always amazes me how God works. When I met up with Leah Henry to give her a disc of her pictures she mentioned to me how her friend Rebecca was getting married in December and didn't have a photographer set up yet. She asked if I'd be interested. "Are you kidding??" Of course! I am always up for a shoot, especially right before Christmas. So she called Rebecca right away as I waited by her car.  It was fun to hear her describe "her" photographer, she was selling for me! I love that, another referral. So, I set up an appointment and met up with her and Brian. What a sweet couple. You could tell instantly they were in love. The way they looked at eachother and the way they interacted, it was so refreshing. They said they would get back to me and sure enough a week later they said, "We talked it over and would like you to be OUR photographer."

The day of the wedding, we had clear skies but cold. I was praying that the weather would be nice enough outside for pictures...it wasn't. It started to pour rain, then the heaviest snow storm of the season proceeded to show up. Oh well, you can only do what you can!

The wedding was short, sweet and simple. My friend Becky showed up to help and we all had a great time. Thank you Rebecca and Brian. Bless you and your life together.

Boise Family Photography: Shara~Hollie~Sadlynn Holiday Pictures

Shara and Hollie are room mates and have also worked together forever. They wanted to get a picture together to send to their family and all their friends back at work. I met this sweet precious baby girl Sadlynn about a month ago and practically forced Shara to schedule a shoot. "I have to shoot her!" She is so smiley and happy. She doesn't walk yet so it was a breeze to shoot her. We happened to get a beautiful winter day with the sun shining bright. I think these turned out great. Its always easier to shoot beautiful girlies! Thank you Shara!!!

Reflections...2010

I have been neglecting my blog lately, I think primarily because I just now finished editing 1 of 6 shoots. There are 2 weddings a kitchen design and 3 family sessions still in the que. I have been so blessed this year to have such great clients and friends. I want to take this time to recognize all of you!! THANK YOU (sniff, sniff...tear) You mean the world to me.

Seriously, Jesus is good, REALLY good! He has been the reason for the "out of the blue" calls from friends of friends and His timing is razor sharp.  2011, God willing will be off the charts! I am so excited to see what happens...Thank you again for your support. Xoxoxo Annie

Boise Family Photography: Villanueva Family~We meet again

I met Michell and her family earlier this year. Their mother and father had a huge party celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. I had so much fun meeting everyone!! So of course when Michelle called me for family pictures a few weeks ago, I was excited to see them again.  After a bad snow out on our first appointment we rescheduled and shot on a beautiful light snowy day. The shoot was really fun and easy. Even though it was still snowing we made it work and got some gorgeous shots. Thank you!! Have a wonderful Christmas! Bless YOU!

Beautiful Family of 9!

WOW! 7 kids! As I saw them running in the grass playing tag and having so much fun together, I just couldn't wait to shoot them. They were all dressed in bright colors and so perfect for a nice day in the fall weather. What a beautiful family!! Thank you Jamie Miller for referring Molly to me.

The Marshall Team

Trying for a boy, Stacey now has 6 boys! I continue to be amazed at how she does it. She told me I could have all the middle ones while she kept the oldest and the baby. :) Blue eyes are amazing! Thank you for letting me shoot your family again Stacey!

This one is my absolute Favorite!

Hector and his little princess!

I have known Hector for almost 10 years but I had never met his beautiful daughter Aaliyah. What a princess! We got rained out during our first session but still managed to get some fun daddy/ daughter shots. The next day we shot was much warmer and more comfortable for Aaliyah. I can't wait to shoot her again.

What a doll! Can I keep her?? jk
